Northamptonshire ACRE (NACRE) is delivering a Rural Support Programme throughout 2023 to residents and communities in rural areas of North Northamptonshire. This programme will be aimed at those people who may be experiencing food and/or fuel poverty and is funded through North Northamptonshire Council’s Household Support Fund 3.

The fund is open to those experiencing hardship in North Northants that live in a rural community, we follow the DEFRA definition of ‘rural’ which is a town or village with a population of less than 10,000 people. This means that we cannot support people with a postcode in the towns of Wellingborough, Corby, Kettering, Rushden and Desborough.

We are keen to work in partnership with parish councils, village halls and other village organisations to ensure we get help to the people in our rural communities who need it most.

  • We are able to support people experiencing financial hardship with an energy payment, food vouchers, and energy-saving devices like lightbulbs, radiator foil and slow cookers.
  • We are offering funding to rural food banks and larders.
  • We also have some funds set aside for school holiday provision, please get in touch for more information.
